How do you compare to an Epic or a Cerner?

Soteria is a knowledge engine that serves as a ‘point of care’ plug-in to the existing EHR (Electronic Healthcare Record).  Soteria enables the clinician/patient dialogue component within the EHR’s ecosystem to operate with real-time data and gives structure to free flowing text. The resulting structured text is automatically codified with medical codes, terms, and concepts.

Are you Meaningful Use Certified?

Soteria is 2014 EHR (inpatient) compliant and has been certified by ICSA Labs, an ONC-ACB, in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Are you in the market?

Soteria is currently deployed at Ventura’s Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Clinic in California.  Soteria was also deployed through an ACO project in South Africa in order to pilot the concept of new pay for performance payment models, which reached approval from the Council of Medical Schemes.

What is the ROI if I adopt Soteria?

Soteria fosters data accuracy – capabilities such as ease of use & “Voice to Text” reducing and virtually eliminating human input, terminating the primary source of data errors.  Intelligent Prompting for Diagnosis – Soteria’s Knowledge Engine incorporates “concept data retrieval” relating to specific patient symptoms.  Soteria enhances the capabilities of the Existing EHR – Soteria works with and does not replace existing EHRs.  Sotria creates the most current & accurate Patient Record – Soteria’s real time data input and retrieval ensure Patient Diagnosis Safety.

What is your current stand on Interoperability?

Soteria’s advanced clinical data model evolved from inception, becoming a super set of existing EHR data models, able to manage structured and unstructured data, ensuring all data elements are unified and context aware.  Soteria’s architecture includes data model transformers to standardize clinical data points, with real time connectors such as REST, SOAP, FHIR, Websockets.  Smart interoperability connectors were part of the original design of Soteria, including standardized (i.e. HL7) and customized messaging capabilities.  The advanced capabilities of Soteria can operate independently of the EHR but still integrate via a plug-in approach, thus presenting the most expedient and acceptable integration possible. The corporate culture and internal acceptance of new technologies can be avoided by Soteria’s “work with, not replace” approach to the EHR reality.  Alignment with IHE standards ensures a wider interoperability strategy with other industry vendors and integration partners.

What codesets do you support?

All documented findings are coded and we support mapping of codesets such as ICD9CM, ICD10CM, SnoMed CT, CVX Vaccines Administered, Loinc, RXNorm and many more.

How do you handle prescriptions and ordering medications?

Soteria has an order entry capability where a clinician can order and prescribe drugs with dose/frequency/duration and many more options specified. It caters for seamless ordering of imaging, procedures, and laboratory tests, to name a few, from integrated partners.
